Conscious and sustainable camping

When renewing and investing in camping, we believe it is important to do so in an environmentally friendly, sustainable way. Often this is visible, sometimes not. We reuse materials where possible and use untreated and FSC approved wood. We also stop using artificial fertilizers and pesticides and build in small landscape elements when redeveloping the grounds. With few exceptions, the chalets are off gas. A water circulation system has been created with which we reuse shower water to flush toilets and water plants. We are also establishing a number of food forests outside the campground and raising chickens, cows and sheep in an animal-friendly way. We sell eggs and egg products. For this purpose we have established our agricultural company De Groene Kust. On our website you can read all about it. This way, our company is ready for the future in a responsible way.

Of course we cannot do everything alone and we need your help. At home people are often very conscious about separating their waste, taking shorter showers or turning the thermostat down a degree, but on vacation these things tend to fade into the background. That's why we work with new power fuses and an ICY campsite manager. Here we can read the power consumption per site and pass it on to the guest. We also work together with other projects and organizations that contribute to making companies CO2 neutral or self-sufficient. To qualify for the Z-GRID subsidy program, we worked with HZ Kenniscentrum Kusttoerisme and Impuls Zeeland. If you are at the campsite and are interested in what we are doing, feel free to talk to Adriaan about it. He will be happy to explain. Also, if time and weather permit, we intend to organize excursions to show interested guests what we are working on. If there are excursions, they will be announced on the board at the reception desk.
